The faculty of nursing was made aware of the problems and needs of elderly people and their caregivers. Hence, the faculty had developed the holistic care project called ‘Smile Strong Smart and Healthy for the Caregiver’ at Phlap Phla sub-district, Chanthaburi Province. This project supported decision making; promoted mental happiness, physical and social aspects, and health literacy. However, the project required cooperation from many other network partners as well as the community stakeholders in order to develop a type of assistance for the elderly and their caregivers to let them live with the life quality in the future. The project summative evaluation revealed that following all the 100 participants, the level of the quality of lives in physical and mental health of elderly caregivers was at a good level. Nonetheless, for economic conditions and social integration, they were at the moderate level. Moreover, it showed a good level of satisfaction among elderly people after they had attended this project. เนื่องด้วยคณะพยาบาลศาสตร์ตระหนักถึงความสำคัญของสภาพปัญหาและความต้องการของผู้สูงอายุและผู้ทำหน้าที่ดูแลผู้สูงอายุ จึงได้พัฒนาแนวทางการสนับสนุนคุณภาพชีวิตในผู้ดูแล แบบองค์รวมดูแลกาย และจิตใจ ได้แก่ "Smile Strong Smart and Health for The Caregiver" ซึ่งประกอบด้วย การส่งเสริมด้านการคิดตัดสินใจ การส่งเสริมด้านความสุขทางจิตใจ การส่งเสริมการดูแลด้านร่างกายและสังคม และการส่งเสริมความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพ ซึ่งต้องอาศัยความร่วมมือภาคีทุกภาคส่วน ผู้มีส่วนได้ส่วนเสียในชุมชน นำไปสู่การพัฒนารูปแบบการช่วยเหลือในการดูแลผู้สูงอายุแก่ผู้ดูแลเพื่อให้ผู้สูงอายุมีคุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีต่อไปในอนาคต ผลการประเมินหลังดำเนินโครงการพบว่า มีผู้เข้าร่วมโครงการจำนวน 100 คน ระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้ดูแลผู้สูงอายุ ตำบลพลับพลา คุณภาพชีวิตด้านสภาพร่างกายและอารมณ์อยู่ในระดับดี แต่ด้านสภาพทางเศรษฐกิจ ด้านการรวมกลุ่มทางสังคมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ระดับความพึงพอใจของผู้ดูแลผู้สูงอายุหลังเข้าร่วมโครงการ อยู่ในระดับ ดี
