The Community Development program at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University drives the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by empowering students to be a central force in collaborating with civil society (NGOs) and local communities. This is primarily achieved through the activities of the “GEN A Club,” which has created impactful and widely recognized projects.
One prominent example is the “Groundwater Recharge and Water Source Creation with Check Dams” project. In this initiative, GEN A Club students worked side-by-side with the community and local partners to jointly study the problem, plan the solution, and construct the check dams themselves. This project not only addresses water scarcity and enhances ecosystem moisture but also serves as a learning process that fosters collaboration for sustainable community-based water resource management.

Beyond its environmental mission, the GEN A Club has demonstrated its capacity to solve social issues through the “Power of Goodness from the Heart: A Loving Fight Against Psoriasis” project, run by the club's community-changing volunteer group. The project aims to assist psoriasis patients by integrating modern health knowledge, traditional herbal wisdom, and the power of volunteerism. Key activities included developing a "Punsuk" (Sharing Happiness) herbal garden, creating therapeutic herbal bath bags, crafting mattresses and cushions from used straws, and producing educational media to improve patients' quality of life and foster community engagement. The project, which involved 80 local residents in the Tha Chang sub-district of Chanthaburi, successfully developed two innovative solutions for patients and ensured continuous community participation in volunteer activities.
As a result of its impactful work, the project received significant national recognition. It was granted a Royal Award from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at the 2025 National Community Development Volunteer Project Contest. Furthermore, it won First Prize in the national “GE Invites You to Do Good for Society” contest in 2025. These accolades reflect the students' capacity to leverage knowledge and volunteerism to create tangible social change.

The GEN A Club is the clearest reflection of the university's philosophy as "a higher education institution for local development." We do not just teach from textbooks; we create practitioners with a heart for serving society. These projects are proof that the power of the new generation can truly bring about significant change for communities. The success of both initiatives confirms the university's commitment to supporting student activities as a key mechanism for driving the Sustainable Development Goals.
